Homecoming 2011 takes place on October 1 this year. Plan to join us on September 30th for our AHS Distinguished Alumni
and Scharper Awards ceremony. Tour the North Addition while you're here, and join us on Saturday for the annual AHS Pregame
Party. Tickets for the Pregame Party and the Illinois vs. Northwestern game will be available for purchase mid-summer on the AHS website.

Meet Our Graduates
Each year, we say goodbye to incredible students who will do their part to improve the quality of life for individuals, families, and communities. This year, the College of Applied Health Sciences expects to award more than 850 bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. We can't introduce you to all of our graduates, but we can let you know what some of them will be doing after graduating this month. Read about some of our graduates.

2011 Student Award Recipients
Every year, the Departments of Kinesiology and Community Health, Recreation, Sport and Tourism, and Speech and Hearing Science, and the Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services recognize academic achievement, involvement, leadership, and potential among undergraduate and graduate students with scholarships and awards. Most of these are generously funded by alumni and friends of the College of Applied Health Sciences. This year, we were proud to host our first event honoring the achievements of students in our Interdisciplinary Health Degree Program as well. Meet this year's recipients.

CHAD Names New Director
Dr. Kenneth Watkin has assumed leadership of the Center on Health, Aging, and Disability. Dr. Watkin is a professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science, where he conducts research on biomedical imaging. Read more about Dr. Watkin.

Professor Notaro Receives Hill Award
Dr. Stephen Notaro, a lecturer in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health, is this year's recipient of the Phyllis Hill Award for Exemplary Mentoring in the Edmund J. James Scholar Program. Read more about why he received the award.
