Office of Advancement Adds Two
Assistant Dean Jean Driscoll has added two major gift officers to the advancement team in the College of Applied Health Sciences.
Troy Collier brings unique qualifications to his position as assistant director of advancement. As an athletic academic counselor for the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, he was responsible for building positive and supportive relationships among student athletes, advisors, professors, administrators, and deans. He had previously spent eight years in coaching at Eastern Illinois, Missouri State, and Ball State Universities, which required him to develop and nurture long-term relationships with recruits and their parents, high school coaches, and recruiting services. During his coaching career, he managed a portfolio of hundreds of recruits and traveled extensively throughout the United States. Troy completed his bachelor’s degree in sociology at Eastern Illinois University, and earned a master’s degree in sports management and an MBA at the University of Illinois.
Krista Kimme amassed a wealth of experience in fundraising, stewardship, and program planning as the associate director of advancement for stewardship in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. She was responsible for fundraising efforts for the Department of Human and Community Development and for the Child Development Laboratory Playground Project, created alumni-centered programs, and managed a portfolio of existing and potential donors. Krista also created and implemented a stewardship plan for ACES and organized receptions for donors and scholarship recipients. For three years, she supervised the college’s student internship program. Krista is an alumna of the College of Applied Health Sciences, having earned her degree in community health in 2006. She is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree at Illinois, and expects to complete her studies in 2013.
As part of the AHS advancement team, Krista and Troy will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major donors and major donor prospects. They will also assist with student and alumni relations.
